In June 2026, HEROIC's threat intelligence analysts spotted a combolist uploaded to Telegram by an anonymous user, tracked as "Steam-Valid uploaded by a Telegram User." The file contains 80 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords and the URLs of the login pages those credentials open, all verified as working logins tied to Steam accounts.

Why This Is Dangerous

The "valid" in this file's name means the credentials have already been tested and confirmed to work. That takes away the guesswork for an attacker. With a plaintext password and the exact login URL already attached, breaking into one of these 80 accounts takes seconds, not skill.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs linked to each credential pair

Why This Matters

A gaming account might not seem as sensitive as a bank login, but Steam accounts often hold saved payment methods, a library of purchased games, and linked friend or chat details. If you reused this password on your email or any other service, an attacker holding one of these 80 credential pairs could pivot from your game library straight into your inbox or financial accounts.

How Combolist Leaks Work

A combolist compiles email and password pairs, usually formatted as email:password, often with the matching login URL included. Lists marked "valid" have typically been run through a checker tool that confirms each login still works before the file is shared or sold on Telegram, which is exactly what makes a small file like this one especially usable for an attacker.
