U.S. Users Targeted in the BabaCloudLogs 255 Leak of 23,532 Accounts
The "BabaCloudLogs 255" Stealer Log Exposed 23,532 Records
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file labeled "BabaCloudLogs 255" that was uploaded to a Telegram channel on July 21, 2025. The file contained 23,532 records taken directly from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the accounts those credentials unlock.
Why This Is Dangerous
The passwords in this log are stored in plaintext, so there is nothing standing between the file and immediate account access. Paired with a matching email address and the URL of the service it unlocks, an attacker can log in right away, without cracking or guessing anything.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- Account and login URLs
Why This Matters
Most people reuse the same password across several accounts, which means one exposed plaintext password can open far more than the single account it was stolen from. Attackers use logs like this for credential stuffing, systematically testing the exposed email and password pairs against banking, email, and social media platforms. For anyone affected, the practical risk is account takeover, financial fraud, and identity theft.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is generated by infostealer malware, software that infects a device and silently harvests saved passwords, autofill data, and browser session information before sending it back to whoever is running the malware. Those results are then packaged into files like "BabaCloudLogs 255" and shared through channels such as Telegram. Because the credentials are pulled straight from the infected device, a single log can expose access to many unrelated accounts and services at once.
