Account Takeover Risk: Violet Logs Cloud F Country Leaked 84 Passwords
Small Stealer Log Tied to Violet Logs Cloud F Country Surfaces on Telegram
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to a public Telegram channel on December 16, 2022, containing 84 records tied to United States accounts. The log, labeled "Violet Logs Cloud F Country," exposed email addresses, plaintext passwords, and API host URLs harvested from a small number of infected devices.
Why This Is Dangerous
Even though this log is small, it holds plaintext passwords, meaning anyone who obtains the file can log directly into the affected accounts without cracking anything. Paired with the URLs recorded alongside each entry, an attacker can immediately see which service each password unlocks, making it just as easy to exploit as a much larger breach.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- API host URLs (the services each login connects to)
Why This Matters
A small record count does not mean small risk for the people involved. If any of the 84 people in this log reused their password on other accounts, banking, email, or social media, those accounts are exposed to credential stuffing and takeover. Because the passwords were captured in plaintext, there is no encryption layer standing between an attacker and the account.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is created by information-stealing malware that infects a device, often through a malicious download, cracked software, or phishing link, and quietly collects saved passwords, browser data, and visited URLs. The malware sends everything it finds back to whoever controls the infection, and the resulting log is then shared or uploaded, in this case to a public Telegram channel, where anyone can access it. Because the theft happens directly on the victim's device, it bypasses the security measures a website itself might have in place.
