Around August 2010, TotalJerkFace, a gaming website, reportedly experienced a security incident affecting 188,000 customer records. The compromised data comprised email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, locations, user websites, and passwords stored as bcrypt hashes. Subsequently, it was revealed that this breach was fabricated and originated from another database.
